IBM adds self-hosted option to its AI mainframe modernization tool
IBM Bob Premium Package for Z can now run on-premises, aimed at regulated organisations modernizing IBM Z code.
IBM is expanding IBM Bob Premium Package for Z, its AI-assisted toolset for modernizing mainframe applications, with self-hosted deployment alongside its SaaS version.
IBM positions the on-premises option as a way to keep sensitive code and data under the customer's control and to meet compliance requirements. The package includes AI-driven application understanding, static code analytics and a tool called zContext that gives developers IBM Z-specific context while they work.
